Children cannot wait to learn to read and spell. Using the small movable alphabet letters is an ideal means of “sounding out” words, and helps them to grasp the concept of reading, and spelling. Watch out for the explosion of reading that follows.
Learning phonetically
They learn to sound out the letters of a word, phonetically. Initially, they use the sandpaper letters, then children move on to the large or the small movable letters. The smallmovableletters areusuallyused for more complex words, with 4 to 5 consonants, and double vowels. They are also able to write sentences and stories.
