This traditional Montessori Imbucare box helps the toddler to develop an understanding of object permanence, an important developmental stage of the infant. Toddlers can now, indirectly, form and retain a mental image of an object. This also marks the beginning of their understanding of abstract concepts.
Infants are naturally curious and will love exploring the Montessori Toddler Imbucare Box with a Ball. When they find a box or a hole, they automatically want to put objects into the hole to see what happens.
They place the ball in the hole, it vanishes, and they desperately search to find where it went. This is how they learn about impermanence; what appears to be lost, can be found again. The missing ball can be recovered by opening the drawer, this concept is known as object permanence.
