The Sound Boxes are a traditional Montessori activity. Each cylinder makes a sound when shaken. The sound is intense, graded from soft to loud.

How do I use this?
The first lesson given to the child is to match the loudest to the softest sound with the red & blue set by shaking them to your ear using only three fingers (any more fingers on the object can mute the sound). The loudest sound stays in your left hand as you go through the line trying to find the cylinders that match the sound you're identifying in hand.
