The Leaf Cards match the insets of the Botany Leaf Cabinet in three formats: thin outline, thick outline, and solid shape.
This material sparks the Child’s interest and work in the area of botany. Initially, the leaf shapes are used for tracing the shapes and comparing and matching the leaf shapes to real leaves that have dropped off the plants. Next, the Child uses these Leaf Cards to find the matching inset in the cabinet, and then they begin to move from the concrete to the abstract.
